Alexei Vasiliev
An important figure in the “unofficial” movements of photography during the 1970s and early 1980s in the Soviet Union, Alexei Vasiliev was considered one of the masters of landscape composition. He was born in 1941 in Moscow, where he later pursued his studies in the humanities. His first exhibition took place in 1963, and since 1966, he has been a member of Novator, Moscow’s famous photography club. His work has been exhibited at numerous international venues. After Perestroika, he relocated to France and began to rediscover his talent and love of photography. He currently lives and works in Moscow.

Alexey Kuzmichev
Alexey Kuzmichev transforms color into a means of emotional expression in his portraits. He has exhibited widely in Russia. His work has been published in many magazines, including Afisha, Poster-world, Le Monde 2, Esquire, Jalouse, Time Out, Lire, Ringzwei, Big City, and Imago. He also worked for the well-known editorial online resource Photographer.ru. He had his first solo show, multidimensional space of horse, in Moscow in 2002. He took part in the 2005 project Corporate portrait of the Russian stock market (State Museum of Contemporary Russian History, Moscow) and participated in the 2008 exhibition New Russian Photography, Vol. 1, in Denmark. He was born in 1977 in Moscow, where he later graduated from the Biological Faculty of Moscow State University in 2002. From 2000 to 2004, he worked as a volunteer for Interphoto, an annual international festival of professional photography in Moscow.

Evgeny Mokhorev
Known for his portraits evoking the fragility and beauty of teenagers in highly classical formats,Evgeny Mokhorev is a Russian photographer who has been widely exhibited in Russia and abroad.In 1993, during the Perestroika years, he won the Discovery of the Year award at the First RussianPhoto Festival. In 1994 and 1998, he received a government grant for young artists, and in 1996,he was nominated for the Photo Artist of the Year. His work is represented in the collections of theBrooklyn Museum, New York; Columbus Museum of Art; State Russian Museum, St. Petersburg;Moscow House of Photography; Southeast Museum of Photography, Daytona Beach, Florida; andNavigator Foundation, Boston. He was born in Leningrad in 1967. He began working as a professionalphotographer in 1986, joining the famous Leningrad photo club Mirror one year later. He has beena member of the Photographers Union of Russia since 1992. In 1997, he joined the Union of RussianArtists. He lives and works in St. Petersburg.

Richard Mosse
Richard Mosse is a widely acclaimed contemporary artist whose work has been exhibited in numerous international venues, including the Akademie der Künste, Berlin; Barbican Art Gallery, London; Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago; Palais de Tokyo, Paris; Tate Modern, London; Dublin Gallery of Photography; and San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, Artists Gallery. In 2006, he received a Leonore Annenberg Fellowship in the Performing and Visual Arts. In 2011, he was awarded a John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation Fellowship with a supplemental stipend from the Leon Levy Foundation. He was born in Ireland in 1980 and is currently based in New York. He earned his M.F.A. in photography from the Yale School of Art, New Haven, Connecticut, in 2008 and a postgraduate diploma in fine art from Goldsmiths, London, in 2005. He also holds a first-class B.A. in English literature from King’s College London and a M.A. in cultural studies from the London Consortium. He is represented by Jack Shainman Gallery, New York; Mother’s Tankstation, Dublin; The Empty Quarter, Dubai; and Institute for Artist Management, Los Angeles.

Abelardo Morrell
One of the most prolific and respected artists in the photographic art world today, Abelardo Morellhas received many awards and grants for his work, including a Cintas grant in 1992, a GuggenheimFellowship in 1994, a Rappaport Prize in 2006, and, most recently, an Alturas Foundation grant in2009 to photograph the landscape of West Texas. He is the recipient of the International Center ofPhotography 2011 Infinity Award. His works have been collected and shown in many museums,galleries, and institutions, including the Museum of Modern Art, Whitney Museum of AmericanArt, and Metropolitan Museum of Art, all in New York, and over seventy other venues worldwide.His publications include a photographic illustration of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland (New York:Dutton Children’s Books, 1998), A Camera in a Room (Washington, D.C.: Smithsonian, 1995), Bookof Books (New York: Bulfinch, 2002), Camera Obscura (New York: Bulfinch, 2004), and AbelardoMorell (London: Phaidon, 2005). Recent publications include a limited edition book issued by theMuseum of Modern Art of his Cliché Verre images with a text by Oliver Sacks. Mr. Morrell was bornin Havana, Cuba, in 1948 and immigrated to the United States with his family in 1962. He receivedhis undergraduate degree in 1977 from Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine, and his M.F.A. in1981 from the Yale University School of Art in New Haven, Connecticut.

AES+F
The multimedia team of AES+F is among the most widely collected artists in Europe. AES+Frepresented Russia in the 2007 Venice Biennale. Moscow-born artists Tatiana Arzamasova, LevEvzovich, and Evgeny Svyatsky formed AES in 1987. In 1995, photographer Vladimir Fridkes joinedthe group and its name was changed to AES+F.
